Snatch is a great movement to be able to perform.
1. It requires full body mobility... other than hip flexors it's really a great way to get people excited about strength through length.

2. I love the impulse, full tension that is created when the bar is at the hips. Instantaneous peak force is key for athletic performance.

3. It's great to tend towards higher physical literacy over time. It's not a movement that athletes should have a lot of trouble learning if that ATG System has been implemented to develop the positions.

4. It teaches the ability to Contract then Relax so there is a strong impulse and then a relaxation phase before creating tension to receive the weight. This complex firing is an important ability that powerlifting /bodybuilding training doesn't teach and might negatively impact.

BONUS - I like these kind of combinations and thinking about it more like learning to play golf than strength training initially. Don't load up or take any risk just work with comfortable weights for quality reps.
