I want to be honest and I want to share my training ups and downs with you because being fit and healthy isn’t always easy, especially now there are so many budget/fast food restaurants, ready meals etc. In today’s society I believe we are forced into being far too busy, we are guided into being stressed and we are encouraged to think limiting beliefs. On my journey I want to encourage you to feel happy, confident and blessed. I want you to see and believe yourself as a beautiful human being. I want you to be able to set the correct goals for you that you 100% know you can achieve.
I was feeling stuck, bored and generally low. I wanted something new and exciting, something that would challenge me. I found myself having a conversation with one my girls, Evelyn Stevenson, World DrugFree Powerlifting Silver Medallist, English Weight Lifting Champion, (to name a few) about how I was feeling about training and Eve suggested trying something completely different and recommended Jim Wendlers 5/3/1 strength training programme. I had no reason to object so I got searching online and ordered the Jim Wendler 5/3/1 book which gives more information on how to structure the programme to suit you. I have just finished my first week on this programme and I must say I am really enjoying it! It’s challenging and it’s very heavy – perfect for me. If this sounds interesting to you – do your research!
Alongside this training programme I thought it’s also a good time to keep a closer eye on my diet. I’ve kept it really simple and cut out a lot of carbohydrates, some may argue as this is a strength training programme which requires A LOT of energy and it’s not wise to drastically lower my carb intake however I upped my fruit and veggies and now I’m feeling cleansed and a lot more positive going forward.

As you can see my diet is mainly made up of Protein from meat and Fish and I get a good dose of fruit and vegetables. On top of this I take cod liver oil capsules and a multi-vitamin supplement. I do not currently take any protein shakes.
So right now I’m on day 9 of this programme and I absolutely loved the deadlift workout I had this morning! I’m feeling happy and energetic. I currently feel like I have all the motivation in the world to complete this 4 week hard core strength programme.
