Defining Elite Body Composition

Body Fat
For men, natural optimal hormonal leanness is generally in the 6-10% range.
Elite natural sports men are often in the 6-7% range in power to weight ratio sports.
Men consuming a natural diet living on the land tend to have body composition in these ranges.
Elite athletes often fall into these ranges without consciously restricting foods.
When maximal muscle mass is required 10-20% body fat is generally required eg. Rugby / Linemen etc.
 
For women it depends on the desire for menstruation and reproductive capacity.
Getting too lean breaks nature’s cycle and is generally a sign of dietary or other stress.
 
Muscle Number
There is a natural limit to muscle mass where adding more becomes very difficult.
For some it’s higher than others just like different genetics of bulls or dogs.
Some are more naturally muscular than others.
