Health Truth 🚰

Health challenges destroy gains, recovery capacity and motivation to train.
When you're not well you would give just about anything to have health again.
I'm not a doctor or even an alternative practitioner... I'm simply going to share links to those who have solutions that have helped me or that make the most sense to me.
"It's a feature not a bug..." changed my view on health. The body doesn't make mistakes.
eg. Cancer is a great healthy response to certain conditions that create more damage than cancer does. The more I learn about health the more I've found this to be true.
eg. Acne a way to demonstrate toxicity and remove it from circulation to out of the body. (I've had it quite badly at different times in my life.)

Hayfever / Seasonal allergies

Feature
What if it was a feature to help the body flush stagnant / dirty lymph from the body... natures spring clean before the main mating season begins in summer.
One of the most common health conditions. Medications often have serious unwanted effects as well as sometimes relieving symptoms. I never found the medications to be very effective but I do think they damaged my health (and maybe my hair, read the paper inside).
For me it started around the same time as a few vaccinations in my mid-teens and has been an issue almost every spring.
The blessing is that hayfever has taught me to learn more about the body and health.
Now I only get hayfever if I have toxicity issues from my liver / gut issues.
There are 4 main angles to go at hayfever from:
Of course there is more we can talk about with overall health but this is a good start.
1. MECHANICAL CLEANING
Local movement of lymph and supporting the bodies desire to clean the area. Flushing and using pressure in the area support the bodies natural processes.
2. FUNGUS, BACTERIA, BLOOD SUGAR & DIGESTION
There is a strong link between blood sugar issues and fungal / candida overgrowth and auto-immunity in general as well as hayfever specifically.
If the gut lining is damaged the immune system will be chronic aggravation to the immune system. This impacts the way the body is able to deal with training stress and foreign invaders.
3. STRESS & IMMUNE / HORMONE RESERVE
You can lower the load on the immune system by not training so hard.
Heart math / box breathing.
SOLUTIONS
1. MECHANICAL CLEANING
This gets messy but gets things moving. I'm 2 days in at the time of writing.

Don't go too nuts on the salt.
I like this rinse option.

2. FUNGUS / BACTERIA / BLOOD SUGAR / DIGESTION
Gut health is a deep rabbit hole. A few things that have helped me that I use regularly are:
1. Fasting / decreasing meal frequency - I've done this in lot of different ways and will go into more detail in a separate section about fasting.
2. Clay, charcoal - they absorb unwanted stuff in the gut and help take load off the liver.
3. Salt/ magnesium / vit C flushes - basically these create diarrhoea to clear the gut of slow moving waste etc. Vit C and Mag can have other benefits from the part that is absorbed.
Eliminate:
1. Sugar - feeds fungus and psoriasis etc.
2. Grains - even the gluten free stuff can cause the same issues as gluten.
3. Vegetable oils - these increase systemic inflammation
Decrease / Test:
1. Dairy
2. Fruit
Other options I've used positively.
Strict carnivore for short and long periods.
Strict Paleo - meat, fruit, vegetables, nuts
Meat / leaves / berries
Paleomedicina - high fat carnivore is a strongly evidence based approach to healing the body.
3. STRESS & HORMONE RESERVE
People with allergies often have lower DHEA and similar vitality markers.
DHEA can be increased through breathing techniques like heart math and box breathing.

Health is being actively taken away from us through toxic food and chemicals.
The most big factors we get right the more resilient we will be to the stresses of training, immune challenges and anything else life throws at us.
We want a reserve of robust vitality.
To do that we have to challenge the body and allow it to adapt... not just to training but also to hot / cold, food shortage / abundance, sunlight etc.
Truths:
  1. Poor health is mostly self-inflicted (through mainstream beliefs)
  1. Animals in nature are not found to die with arthritis, cancer, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, neuro-degenerative disease, low immune function, auto-immune conditions, digestive disease.
  1. Humans, our pets and zoo animals die from / with lifestyle diseases.
  1. Elite performance can't be sustained without elite health.
The most difficult solution to argue against is that returning to some aspects of the diet and lifestyle of our ancestors.

FAITH & PURPOSE

It's very difficult to live without knowing what you would like to achieve and having a belief that you can achieve it.
There are cases of people dying because they believed that they would die when in fact nothing physically negative happened. Nocebo deaths... we are indoctrinated with these from an early age.
Belief that what you are doing is great and it will work impacts the outcome of out actions. When we think we are winning etc we have different neuro-transmitters and hormones released compared to if we don't.
With faith and purpose the other steps have meaning and are worth the effort of moving away from the herd.

DIET

Some argue that our ancestors lived predominantly on plants...
PLANTS
  1. Human's have survived through ice-ages where very few calories from plants can be obtained.
  1. Leaves contain few accessible calories for humans. Around 99% of plants are toxic to humans. The other 1% can be tolerated to a certain dosage.
  1. Plants can't run away so they defend themselves with poisons.
  1. Domesticated plants (fruits and vegetables) have less poisons. These new varieties didn't exist through most of human history.
  1. Humans have very acidic stomachs.
  1. Humans have very short, low energy digestive tracts compared to herbivores.
  1. Humans have very high fat, high energy consumption nervous systems that require calorie dense foods.
  1. There are no essential carbohydrates but there are essential fats and proteins.
  1. Grain based cultures facilitate slavery.
  1. Eating only fruit & vegetables sends people crazy.
  1. Grain is used to fatten animals (and humans)
  1. Traditional cultures carefully prepared grains and vegetables to make them less toxic. (See Weston A Price's work)
  1. Hyperinsulinaemia - high insulin, is the most logical driver of lifestyle disease. Plant foods drive this condition.
  1. Plants are valued in many cultures for their ability to irritate the body to create a cleaning / poisoning effect eg. garlic to kill of parasites in the gut etc. The medicine man could heal and kill with his plant magic. Modern medicine comes mostly from synthetic versions of plant molecules. (Many from the Amazon.)
MEAT
Meat was abundant according to reports of early colonisers of the Americas, Australasia etc.
  1. The Mongols conquered most of the known world on an animal based diet dominating grain based societies. They were able to fast for days and starve out the places they would take over because of their fat adaptation and strength.
  1. Domesticated animals carry more fat than wild animals. We bred them to be more fat and docile because that made them more useful.
  1. Tribes people valued fatty meat and avoided hunting lean animals.
  1. Plant foods were often seen as a last resort to keep away starvation or a way to make the meat go further.
  1. When meat is abundant there is less disease and less need to poison out disease with plant medicine.
  1. Everything needed by the human body is found in the bodies of other animals when consumed nose to tail.
  1. Traditional cultures valued stock, broth, blood, fish eggs, brains, liver, bone marrow, heart, reproductive organs, kidney fat above muscle meats.
  1. Chickens and pigs turn grains and waste products from farming, household food and turn it into fat and protein. This creates better food than what we started with (grains and waste) but not the pristine meats of wild animals or ruminants (grass eaters).
  1. Cultures who consumed a lot of sea-food were often strong and smart.
  1. Raw dairy (goats, sheep, cattle, camels) was foundational in some cultures. Pasteurisation was a commercially driven change (longer shelf-life, less care for the cattle).
  1. Dietary fat has very little impact on the immune response.
  1. Dietary proteins from meat very rarely cause food intolerances. Generally when they do it's because the gut lining has been severely damaged by plant foods. Fasting and using a meat based diet can reverse this condition.
Salt is essential for robust health. Those who keep plants and animals make minerals available to avoid disease and allow growth.
Nothing grow without sun and water.
All food was organic until very recently in human history.
We drank chemical free water ran down the mountain and from natural springs.
Resources:
1. Paleomedicina (Hungarian clinic that is the first to present case studies of the reversal of several terminal cancers and type 1 diabetes.
2. Weston A Price / Pottenger
3. Dr Kraft / Ivor Cummins / Paul Mason - Insulin and ketosis.
The evidence suggests that humans are suited to a meat based diet with some people doing better supplementing that meat based diet with more carbohydrates than others.
Those who's ancestors lived closer to the equator and those with more robust health are likely to tolerate more plants in their diets.
Carbohydrates can be seen as a performance enhancing drug to be used cautiously around key events. In excess they create a cascade towards lifestyle disease that inhibits recovery and performance whether the disease state is reaches or we move further along that continuum.
Carbohydrates then become a double edged sword that can help us gain weight or have more energy at a time of extreme challenge (especially ultra-endurance). The metabolic ability to operate on a low carbohydrate diet is something that humans should consider.

FASTING

When we don't eat food we still eat.
The human body must eat.
We eat ourselves.
Generally we feel good living on the fats and proteins we've stored (although tolerance to training and stress will be lower).
When we stop eating cells recycle damaged proteins (autophagy)
Weak cells die under the stress of low energy, heat etc. (apoptosis)

LIGHT

Blue light is causing significant damage to humans.
Light cycles of circadian rhythm are fundamental to great health.
Red light has significant therapeutic effects.
Vitamin D is essential for optimal health, immune function and performance.
Strong immune function is the foundation for muscle growth.
WIFI & Electromagnetic radiation exist and will impact weakened organisms most.
Dr Kruze...

SLEEP

Not allowing someone to sleep causes death within a few days.
Missing sleep regularly brings us closer to death.
We should sleep in dark, relatively cold, caves.
Hormone health, immune function and blood sugar control are all greatly impacted by sleep quality.

AIR & BREATH

Breath is one of the most direct ways to influence the nervous system.
Mouth breathing and low CO2 damages health and creates sympathetic dominance.
