There are two courses I will be keeping up to date year-round within RMVT:
1) Knee Ability, and 2) Online Biz Ability.
I started online coaching 2 years ago, and have grown to over 3000 active members on my $49.50/month membership.
I genuinely believe this will be over 30,000 by this time next year because we are only scratching the surface.
This is precisely why my two courses will be kept up to date year-round because I am constantly trying to improve.
But I can at least start by sharing exactly how I got to this point. So without further ado:
Lesson 1: WHO ARE YOU?
What does this mean?
Well, we can always use myself as an example and branch out from there. I remember assessing this step for myself...
At the time I had 50 online members. I knew I needed to come up with a name for Instagram, and I looked at what really meant most to me.
In my opinion, WHO you are is best represented by what MEANS the most to you. For me, trying to bring light to the scientifically-false MYTH of no knees over toes in training (which had ruined my life for 10 years) meant more to me than anything else in the world.
So I made my Instagram name @thekneesovertoesguy.
To make a long story short, I hired a social media guy, got @thekneesovertoesguy to 25k followers and a few hundred active online clients, found out my social media guy was getting many of these followers through fake follow-unfollow services, fake likes/comments, etc., had a meeting with him to tell him I wanted to run the account myself without any of these services, found him another role within my company, and 5 minutes later found my account was deleted and I have never seen from nor heard from this evil human being again lol!
So there I was on May 27th last year, just under a year ago, with the "the" taken out: @kneesovertoesguy = 0 followers.
Today I have over 80k followers, 10X as many members as I did at 25k, and I have never used any fake services or hired any social media experts to mess with my account.
If Instagram crashed and I had to start all over again on any other platform with 0 followers, I would figure out this other platform and my business would continue to expand as usual.
The heart of this stability is the stability of knowing exactly WHO I AM, and being able to get across to other people exactly who I am.
Look, "thekneesovertoesguy" sounded silly when I made it, but I DID NOT GIVE A F*** what anyone else thought about it, because I KNEW this is who I was, and that is what I was trying to get accomplished. I could die happy fighting that fight, rather than being something I was not. At the time I did NOT realize what a strategic marketing move this actually was.
So, what are YOU trying to get accomplished?
What is the purpose of you being alive on this planet?
Of course, that purpose goes inward to taking care of your family, and family is the most crucial element of society. But a society that is poor or at war means danger for your own family! So it's not as simple as just living on your own land and raising your family, because the bombs can still drop down upon you if you don't take responsibility for the world around you!
So, what other GAME are you playing, beyond just survival for yourself and your family?
What MATTERS to you?
What do you know, that you wish everyone else knew?
If you can find what this is, if people do in fact need this, and if you can deliver this, you have a business on your hands!
So, before we get into the details of day-to-day operations, etc., we've got to make sure you are on the right game for YOU.
The hours will seem far too long if you're not playing YOUR game.
But if you are, you will never feel overworked.
So, step 1 of branding and hard work and strategies and all that other blah, blah, blah STARTS with:
- Making sure you are playing the right game
- Making a name that represents WHO you are in YOUR eyes
- Making sure that name also conveys to others who you are (to a great enough degree)
Cool thing is, you can ALWAYS change your name as time goes on, but it will be a LOT harder to start over if you find yourself deep in an online business that's not actual true to your goals!
So, this week's homework is:
- Come up with an online business concept that is truest to your goals (we will dive a LOT deeper into specifics of what that delivery will look like - just need an overall theme)
- Come up with an Instagram name conveying who you are, so that you can become an Influencer for your own online biz!
That is the end of Lesson 1.
If I wrote up Lesson 1 again tomorrow, the words might come out all different, but Lesson 1 will always be Lesson 1 no matter how many ways I write it up, and no matter what form of social media or advertising we are talking about:
